Corrections are part of the product here, not an embarrassment.

The labels

Every episode is labeled.

Historical
Historical record
Physics as it was published at the time. Every source is listed in sources.bib.
Speculative
Explicit speculation
Not established physics. The kill criteria are on the Research page.
Practical
Shop practice
Failure analysis at the bench, on circuits rebuilt for the camera.

A label here is a field in a file, and the build reads it. Each thing I commit to on camera is one tagged line in that episode’s outline. A speculative line in a historical episode stops the build. So does a fact that reaches recording without a source.

A claim, tracked

This is what a tracked claim looks like.

CLAIM ep0NN-c0N FACT topic=example-topic src=author1900word
ep0NN-c0N

Episode number, then claim number. A later episode that reuses the claim points back to this ID.

FACT

One of four classes. The build checks it against the episode’s label.

topic=

What the claim is about. If two claims share a topic, I check them against each other by hand.

src=

The entry in sources.bib that backs it.

Once an episode is out, its claims stay as aired. The register keeps moving as I learn more, so sooner or later the two disagree. Each disagreement becomes a row in the corrections ledger.

Corrections

A small error gets a description edit or a pinned comment. A big one gets time in a later episode, or a short of its own, and either way it gets a row above.

Entries on the History page follow the same rules: each cites its sources in sources.bib, and a factual error in one gets a row in this ledger.
